Qingdao loses close match to CSL rivals in home game
Updated:2025-10-17 08:30 Views:173The Qingdao Academy of Science and Technology (QST) football team suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of their CSL rivals, the Shandong Luneng Taishan Football Club (SLTC), on Saturday evening.
The match was played at Qingdao's Shide Stadium, where QST had been performing well this season, having won three out of four games before the match against SLTC. However, they were unable to hold off SLTC, who scored two goals in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory.
Despite the loss, QST manager, Wang Jianhua, expressed his team's determination to bounce back from the defeat. "We know that we didn't perform as well as we would have liked, but we will keep working hard and try our best to improve," he said.
SLTC manager, Zhang Jie, praised QST for their performance in the match. "They played a tough game and showed great spirit. We're happy with the result and look forward to playing them again soon," he added.
In contrast to the match between QST and SLTC, another match involving the two teams ended in a draw. The game took place earlier in the week and saw both teams struggle to create clear-cut opportunities, resulting in a goalless draw.
Despite the draws, both teams remain in the top four positions in the CSL standings, with QST sitting just one point behind SLTC in third place. Both teams will be hoping to continue their good form when they face each other again next month.
